Short little film on making the Indian #mosaic mural

With the wall in Goa completing two years it’s only apt to show a little bit how it was put together. I hope you find it useful.

Fresh Air for Fresh minds equals Fresh insights!

“The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery. ~ Mark van Doren

There is nothing prouder than to see you mentioned in the context of a teacher and I was indeed pleased to see my name mentioned by Judy Francis at Fresh Air 2013 in Quenington

Judy Francis Based in Gloucestershire, Judy’s mosaics are inspired by Gaudi’s flamboyant buildings in Barcelona and Tiffany’s stained glass collection. She taught art at Hatherop Primary School for many years before studying with local mosaic artists, Erica Bibbings and Anya Burzec. Her work is now eagerly sought for its colourful and vibrant evocations of bird-life and her more abstract panels.

Her lovely rooster and dragon fly are lovely pieces and I can only gasp in awe as I saw them at this wonderful exhibition.

The biennial sculpture exhibition held at five acre grounds of Lucy Abel Smith provides a unique opportunity to see a creative mixture of traditionally modern and cutting-edge contemporary work in a stunning outdoor setting. I was truly delighted to see lovely pieces tucked all around the grounds and these pictures may not do justice to the beauty of the pieces on display. With July 7th the last day a glance at the catalog might inspire you to indulge! http://www.freshair2013.com/catalogue.html

More recently another creative workshop participant Lisa Brind was kind enough to introduce me to Horsely School near Stroud. This project will be the conversation for another day detailing the joy and happiness working with the school’s lovely children, teachers and parents!

As I look back at all these pictures I’m inspired to work with new participants at my next creative workshop on the 3rd of August 2013 in Poole Keynes. If you are on a social platform add me on Facebook or Google+ and you can book the event directly from the event calendars!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody and if you can please check out Fresh Air 2013 before July 7th!  It is indeed a refreshing sight!

The Last Week

I loved visiting Fresh Air 2013 and in particular loved looking at my student Judy Francis’s work! http://on.fb.me/14Vz30T

FRESH AIR 2013

It’s the last week so I thought we should fit in a bit more of an in depth photo post of what’s been happening. Featuring many ‘birds and bees’ to fit in the Pool House theme.

The show has been carrying on as usual, everyone rather stunned after the huge number of people that descended on the show on Saturday and Sunday! But it’s been sunny for most of the days, and busy regardless of the weather. I came across a gorgeous Scarlet Tiger Moth on the gravel this morning … unfortunately the hungry swallows in Robert’s garage have seem to have stolen one of its wings, but I put it safely on a plant away from the dogs, people and lawn mowers – I’m one of those people that can’t walk along a path without moving helpless snails etc out of the way of people! Haha

So once safely…
